RESOURCES AND INFORMATION SESSIONS AT THE PATHWAYS CENTER
The Pathways Center has 15 computers available for student use. The computers have Internet access, Mavis Beacon typing tutor, KeyTrain Basic skills training, and access to several information databases used to research occupations and career pathways, education/training requirements and projected employment and wage statistics. Staff is available to help students with computer access.
INFORMATION & WORKSHOP SESSIONS
Sessions are open to students, staff, faculty, and community members. Please arrive on time and come prepared with questions!







ALL ABOUT EMAIL

In one hour you will learn how to choose an email provider and set up your own email address. You will also learn tips and tricks for creating more professional emails. Email attachments will be covered as well.



BASIC WEB

Attend this session to learn everything you need to know about the Internet. We will show you how to use a search engine, explain the differences between different types of web addresses, and offer other useful tips that will help you fully utilize the World Wide Web.

Did you know that Clark College offers many short-term certificate and training programs? This session will provide students with valuable information about programs in high-demand fields that can be completed in one year (12 months) or less.

How do I get started in college? Is there funding available? How do I select programs and classes? What is a credit and how many should I take? This session will explain the nuts and bolts of starting in a college program.



EXCEL BASICS

How can Microsoft Excel help you with school, job search, and your career? This introduction to Excel session will teach you the basic functions of Microsoft Excel 2007 and creating useful spreadsheets.



FAFSA APPLICATION SESSION

Need helping starting your Free Application for Federal Student Aid form? Bring your 2009 tax information, driver’s license, social security number, and we will help you get started! Our FAFSA session will help you create a student PIN number and walk you through the process of filling out your online FAFSA form.





FORMATTING DOCUMENTS WITH WORD (WORD I, II)

Learn the basics for using Microsoft Word 2007. Word I will cover understanding the “ribbon” menus. Word II will cover formatting and editing the document layouts.




IBEST INFORMATION MEETING

Attend this session to learn about IBEST basics, program requirements, and to begin the application process for one of the following programs: Nursing Assistant Certified, Early Childhood Education, or Office Skills. Students wishing to enroll in IBEST are strongly encouraged to attend this meeting.
