Phone Locales
Dear CVM Mail Box Holders and Agencies:
I want to update my list of phone locales where Community Voice Mail users may pick up their messages throughout Vancouver/Clark County. If you are a CVM agency, and clients may pick up voice mails in your lobby or front office, please remind me, and if you are a voice mail box holder and know of a payphone or other spot, please remind me of that as well.
Please be as specific as possible and supply the address and the location of the phone within the address.
The more phone locations I know of and can share, the easier it will be for Mail Box holders to pick up messages. It will also make it easier to serve the Vancouver CVM community.
Box holders press 4 to leave me a message, but you already know that!

Oregon Tradeswomen
Oregon Tradeswomen, Inc. (OTI) helps train women to begin high skill, high wage careers in construction. Their seven-week Trades and Apprenticeship Career Class is state certified and FREE! Since January, OTI has placed 70 women into construction careers and are currently recruiting for our August class.
OTI’s next 7-week class starts August 30th and they will offer 5 classes in 2012.
More information about the Trades and Apprenticeship Career Class can be found on their website (www.tradeswomen.net), but here are the basics about the class:
• Class meets Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 8:30 a.m. -4:30 p.m. and includes classroom training (including 5 hours of green job training), hands-on construction work, field trips, strength/fitness training, construction math and measurement, career counseling and placement assistance.
• The next class starts on August 30, 2011. Information Sessions about what to expect from the class will be held on August 4th, 11th, 18th, and 25th, and twice a month thereafter at the PCC Metro One Stop. Attending an information session is the first step to entering our class.

• They do require a GED and prioritize participants that have a driver’s license. However, interested women should contact them as they can counsel people about what goals to work toward to be more successful in the industry.

The Bike to Work program is funded in part through a grant from the Washington State Department of Transportation and offers qualified individuals the following:
• A Bicycle
• Helmet
• Bike Locks
• Miscellaneous bike related accessories
• A five-hour bicycle training and safety course
If you or someone you know is interested in learning more about this program please call 360.258.2103, Option 1.
Our phone lines are open Monday through Friday from 8am to 430pm excluding weekends and all major holidays.
